TRAINING
THE NEXT
GENERATION
OF THERAPISTS
At Mindful Therapy Pacific NW, we don’t believe in cranking out therapists who just hand clients a worksheet, tell them to take deep breaths and call it progress. We train graduate student interns and registered associates who are putting in the sweat equity to earn their hours for licensure.
We’re not casual about who we bring on board
Our selection process is extensive, competitive, and intentional, because we’re not just filling seats, we’re cultivating future clinicians who can actually hold the weight of this work. If you’re curious about joining us, let’s start the conversation about interning with our team.
Once you’re in,
be ready:
This isn’t just “supervision,” it’s mentorship with bite. We push our clinicians to sit in the fire of human pain without flinching, to notice their own countertransference without bolting, and to use their own presence as one of the most powerful interventions in the room.
And because depth matters, we require every intern to complete 30+ hours of Hakomi training either before they begin with us or alongside their internship. That’s not busywork, it’s a foundation in mindful, somatic, experiential work that changes how you show up with clients (and with yourself).
Of course, our folks learn the basics (ethics, documentation, and insurance codes that make you want to cry). But we mentor them far beyond that: into the messy, human, unforgettable work of therapy. By the time they’re licensed, they’re not just therapists with hours logged; they’re therapists clients remember.
