WELCOME
We are NOT your
typical therapists
We’re a team of real humans doing real work…
…Deep, messy, transformative work with people who’ve lived through some stuff. We don’t shy away from pain, complexities, or the systems that fail way too many of us. Our therapists show up fully authentic: trauma-informed, attachment-focused, somatically-trained, Hakomi-based, and unapologetically rooted in justice, equity, and lived experience.
We believe in
mindfulness,
BUT…
…We’re not going to make you sit cross-legged and chant (unless you’re into that). No meditation experience required. In fact, you don’t even need to know what mindfulness means. We’ll help you discover how it can actually shift things in your life, in real and tangible ways that work uniquely for you. Just to be clear, we’re not selling the love-and-light-only version of healing. And honestly, none of us really know what those stacked rocks next to rippling water are supposed to mean. If you know the meaning, let us in on it. What we know is how to help people slow down, get curious, and turn toward themselves with honesty, compassion, and zero judgment and fluff. We are comfortable with the uncomfortable.
We believe
healing
is political
Mental health doesn’t exist in a vacuum, it’s shaped by systems like racism, poverty, ableism, and trans/homophobia. Trauma is often systemic, and neutrality can do harm. We say and name the things that need naming, create space for truth, and walk alongside people as they reclaim their voice and agency.
At MTPNW
presence is our
superpower
Therapy should feel like a real relationship and not just quiet nodding in a softly lit room next to a box of tissues and incense.
What therapy should feel like is being deeply seen without being judged, challenged without being pushed, and supported by someone who’s not afraid to sit in the dark with you until you can find your own lightswitch. It’s not about fixing you; it’s about re-discovering you.
We also help
grow therapists
We invest in baby therapists — grad students and new clinicians with grit, humor, and serious training so they can become depth-focused, change-inspiring practitioners. Our clinical supervision isn’t about checking useless boxes and helping practitioners choose just “the perfect” worksheet for a client to track their moods, it’s about becoming the kind of therapist who can sit in the hard muck with someone, yet stay present and human.
